Clyde ‘Pat’ Morris, Jr., 78 of Worton formerly of Betterton, MD, died June 25, 2018 in Corsica Hills Center, Centreville, MD.
Pat was born on March 17, 1940 son of the late Samuel Clyde Morris, Sr. and Winnie Hurtt Morris. He was raised on a farm outside of Chestertown and later moved to Still Pond. Pat was a 1958 graduate of Chestertown High School. His career as a salesman included working for McCords Cleaners, Coleman Brothers, Chester River Boat Yard, Gambacorta, Big A, Kunkels, C.F. Schwartz and NAPA.
Pat was a life member of Betterton V.F.C, where he served as president, assistant chief and on the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Kent & QA Fireman’s Association where he was a past president. For several years he served on the Betterton Town Council and as assistant Mayor. He was a member of the Maryland Jousting Association
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Elizabeth Ann Greenplate Morris.
He is survived by his sons, Timothy A. Morris of Middletown, DE and Clyde Edwin Morris (Sandra Marshall) of Worton, a brother, George Morris of Still Pond, 2 granddaughters, Rachel and Trish Morris, 3 step grandchildren, Amber, Emerald and Gage and 2 step-great-grandchildren, Dexter and Evelyn.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 1 from 1 to 3 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will be held on Monday, July 2 at 11am. Burial with Fireman’s Honors will follow in Crumpton Cemetery.
