The Betterton Elementary School fire of 1970

Betterton Fire Company holds an Annual Fundraising Bazaar & Auction usually in October or November

Two plaques, one inside and one outside,
dedicated to deceased members are still displayed at the firehouse today.

Engine 55 was state of the art in 1969, and painted yellow, a color newly approved by the State of Maryland, to reduce the amount of motor vehicle accidents involving rescue apparatus.
